album release mayhem
post album release week was a hectic one. once i got home from Los Angeles (did a a few interviews and had a show), i prepped for the Twitch stream we held wednesday night. I hadn’t streamed for almost 4 years which blew my mind as i re-opened the software. if I was in vegas and you told me to put money on how long its been… i would have lost everything on that bet. time is a funny thing hey. funny that.
i talked through my album track by track, had a few drinks, Lights came by, Vox Rea came by, Tegan (sans-Sara) came by, friends came, I DJ’d. everyone played my simpsons arcade game. it was unhinged, hectic, organized chaos i suppose. we had over 60,000 unique viewers!! a nice warm-up for friday…
friday night arrived, and the plan was simple. a pop up crawl. 3 pop ups, 3 locations, in roughly 3 hours. play a set, hop in a car, pull up to the next spot, and start playing again. we chose 3 unconventional locations: Between 2 Buns, Strathcona Brewery and Monzo Burger.
to be honest, these always stress me out quite a bit because i’m not quite sure how down people will be with this idea but… i was blown away. Vancouver you continually show up for these bold ideas we have and really keep me motivated to keep trying things. so thank you for that.
the album felt “real” after this week. i’m happy it’s finally out. i hope you’ve been enjoying it. thanks!!
