you don’t know your worth

what an amazing day on tuesday. we recorded feel less with a live string quartet at warehouse studios. a beautiful arrangement by todor really brought our song to life in a new way. i’m in this constant teetering state of believing in my records while also thinking they could always be better. i think that’s healthy but i’m working on it. i think moments like this help strengthen the belief side of the equation.

live strings have been a bucket list idea ever since i can remember. i tried to play it cool during the day but the kid inside me had a ‘what the fuck’ moment as it was all happening. i don’t think anyone noticed. the string players were so dialled and Lights killed it on vocals as per usual. i feel fortunate that i get to work with people who are better than me, that inspire me to elevate my craft.

i’m not quite sure how this string rendition will sound in the end. i parsed through the takes and they all sound wonderful. it’s all a bit daunting. i think ultimately that’s been my whole life as a creative. just trying things that are interesting to me, and following them down whatever weird rabbit hole they may lead me. i do love it.
